Short Sleeper Gene Mutation

The University of Pittsburgh identified a gene mutation that causes Short Sleeper Syndrome in 2014. Those affected can function normally with less than 6 hours of sleep and never need to "recover" from lack of sleep, unlike people who purposefully limit their sleep. The mutation was tested on mice and proved effective.
