In 2007, two Americans rediscovered Pure Nacional cacao trees that were thought to have been completely wiped out by disease in the early 20th century. The ancient Nacional varietal was cultivated more than 5,000 years ago and is believed to produce the world's most exquisite (and expensive) chocolate.
