Lab Stress: Simulated Job Interviews

A commonly used procedure in a laboratory setting to reliably induce psychological stress is the simulation of a job interview. The stress test consists of three 5-minute phases, lasting a total of 15 minutes. The first phase involves preparing a presentation under anticipatory stress, followed by a presentation observation. Subsequently, participants engage in a mental arithmetic task, and after completion, a debriefing assures them that the stress test is unrelated to personal abilities.
