Spielberg's Shooting Star Tradition

Spielberg's Shooting Star Tradition

In 'JAWS' (1975), there is a shooting star in the background when Chief Brody is loading his gun. Steven Spielberg said this was purely a coincidence and not an optical effect. Since then, Spielberg has opted to include a shooting star in the background of his movies, such as 'Close Encounters of the Third Kind,' 'Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom,' 'Saving Private Ryan,' and 'The Adventures of Tintin,' as a good luck charm, usually before something climactic or significant happens.
