In Thor: Ragnarok, however, Thor allows it to smash through the walls of the New York Sanctum. The theory speculates that Thor intentionally redirected the hammer, making it take a more erratic route instead of a direct path, possibly as an act of microaggression as a subtle response to Doctor Strange's repeated teleportation.
