Patrick Stewart's X-Men Discovery

When Patrick Stewart was initially approached to consider the role of Professor X in a film adaptation of The X-Men, he had no prior knowledge of the character. His response to one of the producers, who handed him an 'X-Men' comic from her desk, was, "What am I doing on the front of a comic book?"
