Ancient Electric Treatment

The medical application of electricity dates back at least 1800 years, with the Imperial Roman physician Scribonius Largus detailing the use of electric eels to treat ailments such as gout and headaches. It is still in use, and contrary to most Hollywood depictions, it is largely considered safe and humane with modern anesthesia.
