Mercy Brown Vampire Incident

In 1892, the body of a 19-year-old girl named Mercy Brown was exhumed by her father, who then went to burn her heart and liver. Her ailing brother was then given a tonic made from the ashes. Her dad thought she was a vampire and could heal her brother's tuberculosis with her special tonic. It didn't work; he passed away two months later.
