Psycho Soundtrack

Alfred Hitchcock's initial plan for the shower scene in "Psycho" did not include any sort of musical soundtrack. The composer of the score for the movie, Bernard Herrmann, approached him and requested that he listen to the music that Herrmann had prepared specifically for the scene. Hitchcock thought it was a big improvement to the scene, and as a reward, Bernard's salary was almost doubled.
