Tomb of Eurysaces the Baker

Marcus Vergilius Eurysaces was a baker who lived in Rome during the 1st century B.C. He built for himself a 33-foot-tall tomb that had intricate designs and extravagant engravings. It has survived the test of time and survives to this day. Eurysaces, though wealthy when he died, came to Rome as a slave.
