More than two-thirds of NASA astronauts were Boy Scouts. Of the 312 people selected to be astronauts, at least 207 have been active scouts. Of the 24 astronauts who traveled to the moon, 20 were scouts, including 11 of the 12 moonwalkers, and all three crew members of Apollo 13.
