Mummy with Prostate Cancer

Mummy with Prostate Cancer

In 2011, scientists diagnosed a 2250-year-old Egyptian mummy with metastatic prostate cancer. A man known today only as M1 struggled with a long, painful and progressive illness. A dull pain throbbed in his lower back and then spread to other parts of his body. When he finally succumbed to the mysterious ailment at the age of 51-60, his family paid for him to be mummified.
