Helminthic therapy is an experimental form of immunotherapy in which a patient is deliberately infested with specific parasitic intestinal nematodes (worms). This form of therapy aims to treat immune-mediated diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn's disease, and multiple sclerosis by mitigating or alleviating immune responses via the infection.
