Lissencephaly

Lissencephaly is a disorder that causes “smooth brain”. Males are more likely to inherit the disease and are more severely affected. Females who inherit the disease may have mild symptoms or even appear completely healthy with no symptoms. Some kids may never be able to sit, stand, walk or roll over. They might have poor muscle tone. Their hands, fingers, or toes may be deformed.
