Syphilis Outbreak

An outbreak of Syphilis in 16th century Europe caused a surge in Wigmaking. Wigs covered up baldness and head sores caused by Syphilis. Powdered Wigs were popular because the powder contained lavender or orange, to cover up bad smells.
