Dr. Patricia Bath

Dr. Patricia Bath restored eyesight to millions of people suffering from cataracts thanks to her invention of the Laserphaco Probe. Among her multiple firsts, she was the first African-American to complete a residency in ophthalmology and the first African-American female doctor to receive a medical patent.
