Lina Medina born in 1933 is a Peruvian woman who became the youngest confirmed mother in history, giving birth at age five to a boy that she named Gerardo. She started menstruating at only 8 months old. She was initially brought to a hospital by her parents at the age of five years due to increasing abdominal size. She was originally thought to have a tumor, but doctors determined she was in her seventh month of pregnancy. Although Medina's father was arrested on suspicion of sexual abuse, he was later released due to lack of evidence, and the baby's biological father was never identified.
