Ancient library of Nineveh

The massive ancient library of Nineveh (Mesopotamian equivalent of library of Alexandria) was burnt by the Medes. The fires rather than destroying the documents surprisingly treated the approximately 30,000 clay tablets and preserved the cuneiform text very well.
