President Ronald Reagan's first official White House doctor, Daniel Ruge, called his job as a doctor, “vastly overrated, boring and not medically challenging.” Daniel Ruge could not attend most state dinners due to lack of space but had to be ready for emergencies, usually waiting alone in his office, wearing a tuxedo.
